Backport v2022 <- v2024dev1: Fix clone-sample-repos

Script clone-sample-repos is aimed to clone the sample repos in the SDK, however, it does not properly point the branch that should be used as it does not take into account the distribution id.
Fix the issue by properly point to the branch name.
Also avoid cloning not available repos.
